Ingredients

For the Phuthu:
2 cups maize meal
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Khabishi (Braised Cabbage):
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small head cabbage, shredded
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: pinch of turmeric or curry powder

For the Nyama yeNkomo (Beef Stew):
2 tablespoons oil
1 kg beef stewing pieces
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated ginger
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 beef stock cube
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon curry powder (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups water or beef broth
