In Feng Shui principles, there’s a particularly discouraged arrangement: positioning the bed so that your feet are directly facing the door. This arrangement is evocatively known as the “coffin position.”
Why such a stark name? Traditionally, in some Asian cultures, the deceased are carried out feet first. Sleeping in this way symbolizes a loss of vital energy, or Chi, during sleep. Not very reassuring, when put this way.

According to Feng Shui enthusiasts, sleeping with your feet facing the door can have several negative consequences. Energy would enter and exit the room too rapidly, preventing the body from fully resting. The results: restless sleep, persistent fatigue, and a feeling of never fully recovering.
