The dawn of a new chapter
On May 3rd, the Almost Home No Kill Rescue team shared the joyous news: Nikki was now safe . She’s now receiving loving care, regular meals, much-needed cuddles, and most importantly…she’s keeping her comforting stuffed animal.
The road to full recovery, however, remains fraught with challenges. Nikki is battling a heartworm infestation , a parasitic disease that requires prolonged treatment. For now, she’s resting, slowly regaining her energy, and discovering the joys of walks on a leash.
