Instructions
Step 1: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the pan.
Step 2: Add the diced onion and garlic to the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Step 3: Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess grease.
Step 4: Pour in the beer, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
Step 5: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and crispy bacon. Mix until the cheese is melted and everything is combined.
Step 6: Spoon the mixture onto toasted hamburger buns. Serve hot and enjoy every sloppy, cheesy bite!
Storage Information
Store leftover sloppy joe mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave before serving. You can also freeze the meat mixture (without the buns) for up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
