Step 1 Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
/n Step 2 Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
/n Step 3 In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion until softened, then add garlic and cook briefly.
/n Step 4 Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and sugar, then simmer for 5–7 minutes.
/n Step 5 Combine the cooked macaroni with the tomato mixture and mix well.
/n Step 6 Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
/n Step 7 Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top.
/n Step 8 Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted.

Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven at 325°F (160°C) or microwave until warmed through. You can freeze the casserole for up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
