Beef Burrito

Instructions

step 1 In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil and sauté chopped onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
step 2 Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
step 3 Stir in taco seasoning, cumin, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until well combined and thickened.
step 4 Warm tortillas slightly in the microwave or on a pan to make them more pliable.
step 5 On each tortilla, layer rice, black beans, seasoned beef, and shredded cheese.
step 6 Roll each tortilla tightly, folding in the sides as you go to create a burrito.
step 7 In a clean skillet, melt a bit of butter or add a drizzle of oil. Toast the burritos seam-side down over medium heat until golden and crisp on both sides.
step 8 Serve hot with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Wrap leftover burritos in foil or place them in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet for a crispy finish or in the microwave for convenience. For longer storage, freeze individually wrapped burritos and reheat in the oven.
