Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Step 5: Fold in the chocolate chips, pecans, and caramel bits.
Step 6: Scoop out 1.5 tablespoon portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Step 7: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt if using.
Step 8: Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Storage Information
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. To keep them soft longer, place a slice of bread in the container with the cookies. Cookies can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
