Cheesy Beef Baked Ziti

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.

Step 2: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the ziti pasta until just al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 3: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 4: Add the diced onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.

Step 5: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 6: Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.

Step 7: Season the beef mixture with Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.

Step 8: Pour in the marinara sauce and heavy cream, stirring until combined. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 9: Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir gently to coat.

Step 10: Spread half of the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Step 11: Dollop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese over the pasta layer.

Step 12: Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top.

Step 13: Add the remaining pasta mixture and finish with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Step 14: Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 15: Remove from the oven and let the baked ziti rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 16: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store leftover Cheesy Beef Baked Ziti in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or warm larger portions in the oven at 350°F until heated through. This baked pasta also freezes well for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
