Instructions
Step 1 Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside. /n
Step 2 In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute. /n
Step 3 Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, and let simmer for 10 minutes. /n
Step 4 In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese until smooth. /n
Step 5 In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute, then gradually add milk, stirring until thickened; season with nutmeg. /n
Step 6 Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish, then add noodles, ricotta mixture, béchamel sauce, and mozzarella cheese. /n
Step 7 Repeat the layers, finishing with a generous layer of mozzarella on top. /n
Step 8 Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and bubbly, then let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through, or microwave individual portions.
You can freeze lasagna for up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Cover with foil when reheating in the oven to prevent the top from over-browning.
