Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2: Using kitchen shears, carefully cut the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise and gently pull the meat up, keeping it attached at the base.
Step 3: In a small skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 4: Combine the shredded cheddar, gruyere, and grated Parmesan in a bowl, then mix in the sautéed garlic, Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper.
Step 5: Divide the cheese mixture evenly among the four lobster tails, mounding it generously on top of each opened tail.
Step 6: In another bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter until the breadcrumbs are moistened.
Step 7: Sprinkle the buttered breadcrumb mixture over the cheese on each tail, pressing gently so it adheres.
Step 8: Place the stuffed tails on a prepared baking dish and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the lobster meat is opaque.
Step 9: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh chives and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Step 10: Serve immediately while warm and enjoy.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Leftover stuffed lobster tails can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. They’re best enjoyed fresh, but refrigerated leftovers are still delicious.
To reheat, place the lobster tails on a baking sheet and warm in a 350-degree oven for about 8-10 minutes until heated through. Avoid the microwave, as it can make the lobster meat rubbery.
These tails can also be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated unbaked for up to 24 hours, then baked when ready to serve for a convenient dinner party option.
