step 1 In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and cook sliced onions until caramelized, about 10–15 minutes. Set aside. /n
step 2 In a bowl, season ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then form into small patties. /n
step 3 Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned and fully cooked. Remove and set aside. /n
step 4 Butter one side of each slice of bread. /n
step 5 Place bread butter-side down in a skillet, add cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions, more cheese, and top with another slice of bread. /n
step 6 Cook until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until cheese is melted. /n
step 7 Remove from skillet, slice into smaller portions if desired, and serve warm.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or oven to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it may make the bread soggy.
