Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray.
Step 2: Press each wonton wrapper gently into a muffin cup, allowing the corners to stick up and create a cup shape. Bake for 5 minutes until they start to crisp, then remove and set aside.
Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped shrimp, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, green onions, parsley, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix until well combined and season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Spoon the shrimp mixture evenly into each wonton cup, filling them generously but not overflowing.
Step 5: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the filling is heated through and the wonton cups are golden brown and crispy.
Step 6: Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes. Garnish with extra fresh parsley and green onions if desired, then serve warm.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover wonton cups in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for up to 2 weeks before baking for easy entertaining.
To reheat, place frozen or refrigerated cups on a baking sheet and warm at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes until heated through and crispy again.
For best texture, avoid storing these in the refrigerator before baking, as the wonton wrappers may absorb moisture. Instead, assemble and bake them fresh, or freeze the unbaked cups and bake directly from frozen.
