Instructions:
step 1 Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Toss cut fries in oil, paprika, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Spread evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
step 2 In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter or add oil. Sauté onions (and bell peppers if using) for 2–3 minutes until softened.
step 3 Add chopped steak to the skillet. Season with garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
step 4 Reduce heat to low, sprinkle cheese or pour cheese sauce over the beef, and let it melt.
step 5 Toast sub rolls lightly, then add a layer of shredded lettuce (if using), followed by the cheesy steak mixture.
step 6 Serve hot with crispy fries and a side of ketchup or dipping sauce.
Storage and Reheating Tips:
Store leftover steak mixture and fries separately in airtight containers. Reheat steak in a skillet over low heat and fries in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness. Assembled subs are best enjoyed fresh to avoid sogginess.
