Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
Step 2: In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic and olive oil. Brush each slice of bread generously with the garlic oil mixture.
Step 3: Place the bread slices on the baking sheet. Top each with a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Step 4: Add 2-3 slices of tomato on top of the cheese for each piece of bread. Sprinkle with dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Step 5: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and starting to turn golden brown around the edges.
Step 6: Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh chopped basil. Let cool slightly before serving.
Storage Information:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until warmed through and crispy again. Avoid microwaving to maintain crispness.
