Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Step 5: Fold in chocolate chips and cherries until evenly distributed.
Step 6: Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets (about 2 tablespoons per cookie). Leave space between each cookie.
Step 7: Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are set and centers are slightly soft. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Storage Information:
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
