Step 1 Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
/nStep 2 In a bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
/nStep 3 Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
/nStep 4 Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the cream cheese layer.
/nStep 5 In another bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix with milk until just combined.
/nStep 6 Pour the cake batter evenly over the cream cheese layer.
/nStep 7 Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
/nStep 8 Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is set and slightly crisp.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave for 20–30 seconds. This dessert can also be enjoyed cold or frozen for up to 1 month.
