Classic Beef Lasagna

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2: Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 3: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.

Step 4: Add the garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked.

Step 5: Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 6: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley.

Step 7: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.

Step 8: Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.

Step 9: Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese on top.

Step 10: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Step 11: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Step 12: Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Step 13: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store leftover lasagna in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

To freeze, wrap individual portions tightly in plastic wrap and foil, then freeze for up to 3 months.

Reheat in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes or bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through.
