Classic Breakfast Platter

Instructions

step 1 In a bowl, whisk together 4 eggs with milk, salt, and pepper. Melt butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat, add eggs, and scramble gently until fluffy and cooked through.
step 2 In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil with salt. Stir in grits and reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 5–7 minutes until thickened. Stir in butter and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
step 3 In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
step 4 In the same skillet or a separate one, cook sausage links until browned and cooked through, about 10–12 minutes.
step 5 For the French toast, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla in a shallow bowl. Dip each slice of bread in the batter and let it soak for a few seconds on each side.
step 6 Heat butter in a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook soaked bread slices for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
step 7 Serve the scrambled eggs, cheese grits, bacon, sausage, and French toast together on a platter. Add a pat of butter and drizzle maple syrup over the French toast. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store leftovers in separate containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat eggs and grits in the microwave with a splash of milk or butter. Reheat bacon and sausage in a skillet or air fryer for crispness. French toast can be reheated in the toaster or oven to restore texture.
