Instructions

Step 1: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat./n
Step 2: In a bowl, gently combine ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder without overmixing./n
Step 3: Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly larger than the buns, pressing a small indentation into the center of each./n
Step 4: Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C)./n
Step 5: Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover briefly to melt./n
Step 6: While the burgers cook, spread butter on the buns and toast them lightly on the grill or in a skillet until golden./n
Step 7: Assemble the burgers by placing the cheesy patty on the bottom bun, then layering lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and desired condiments./n
Step 8: Top with the remaining bun half and serve immediately while hot and juicy.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store leftover cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through. Avoid microwaving for best texture. Cooked patties can also be frozen for up to 2 months and thawed overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
