Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Instructions

Step 1 Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2 In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3 In a separate large bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Step 4 Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 5 Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Step 6 Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped chocolate if using.
Step 7 Scoop dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
Step 8 Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
Step 9 Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
Step 10 Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
