Instructions
Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the cold milk and vanilla pudding mix until thickened./n
Step 2: Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and creamy./n
Step 3: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form (skip if using whipped topping)./n
Step 4: Fold the whipped cream or whipped topping gently into the pudding mixture until fully combined./n
Step 5: In a serving dish, create a layer of vanilla wafer cookies followed by a layer of sliced bananas./n
Step 6: Spread a layer of the pudding mixture over the bananas and cookies./n
Step 7: Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top./n
Step 8: Optionally garnish with extra crushed wafers or banana slices.
Step 9: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow flavors to meld and cookies to soften./n
Step 10: Serve chilled.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Bananas may brown slightly over time, so for best presentation, serve within 24 hours.
This dessert is not suitable for reheating and should always be served cold.
