Classic Kota with Russian Sausage

Instructions

step 1 Grill or fry the Russian sausage until nicely browned and cooked through. Set aside.
step 2 Cook the beef patty or steak until well done and juicy. Season with salt and pepper.
step 3 Fry the egg to your preferred doneness, keeping the yolk slightly runny or fully set.
step 4 Toast the inside of the hollowed-out bread lightly if desired, for a sturdier base.
step 5 Layer the bottom of the bread with shredded lettuce or cabbage slaw. Add a few cooked chips over it.
step 6 Add the beef patty or steak, followed by the fried egg and tomato slices.
step 7 Place the grilled Russian sausage on top, then drizzle generously with BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, and mayo. Add atchar if using.
step 8 Close with the bread “lid” or serve open-style with a skewer to hold it in place.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Best enjoyed fresh! If storing, wrap tightly and refrigerate for up to 1 day. Reheat components separately (especially meat and fries) and assemble again for best results. Avoid microwaving the whole Kota, as the bread may become soggy.
