Instructions
Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente.
Step 2: Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
Step 3: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 4: Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
Step 5: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 6: Add the tomato sauce and tomato paste, stirring until smooth.
Step 7: Season the sauce with Italian seasoning, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
Step 8: Simmer the sauce for 5 to 7 minutes.
Step 9: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
Step 10: Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.
Step 11: Stir in a small amount of reserved pasta water if needed for a silkier sauce.
Step 12: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover spaghetti in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with a splash of milk or water to loosen the sauce.
Microwave individual servings for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Freezing is not recommended, as the creamy sauce may separate after thawing.
