Step 1: Pat the cheese pieces dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This helps them brown evenly.
Step 2: Lightly dust each cheese square with all-purpose flour, coating all sides evenly. Shake off any excess.
Step 3: Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
Step 4: Add the floured cheese squares to the pan in batches. Fry for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
Step 5: Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any extra oil.
Step 6: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or oregano if desired, and serve immediately while hot and melty.
Storage Information
These fried cheese bites are best enjoyed fresh and hot. However, if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat to restore crispiness—avoid microwaving as it can make them rubbery.
