Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced onion until softened. Add the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Step 3: Stir in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Step 4: Roll out the pizza or bread dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
Step 5: Spread the cooled beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border along the edges. Top with chopped bacon, cheddar, mozzarella, and pickles if using.
Step 6: Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the ends and seam to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 7: Brush the top with beaten egg. Use a sharp knife to make diagonal slits on top for venting.
Step 8: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
Step 9: Let cool for 5 minutes, then slice and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Storage Information
Store any leftover garbage bread wrapped in foil or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, bake in a 350°F oven until warmed through, or microwave individual slices until hot. Freezing is not recommended as the bread may become soggy when thawed.
