Redefining your relationship with your parents: an act of emotional maturity

We don’t heal by denying. But we move forward by acknowledging what was missing, without blaming ourselves . If you feel anger, sadness, or disappointment toward your parents, these emotions have their place . They are legitimate, even if they concern people you love.
Sometimes, rebuilding yourself also involves redefining your place in the family relationship: setting limits, distancing yourself, or in some cases, moving away permanently if the suffering persists despite your efforts .
