Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: In a small bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with the strawberry jam to coat.
Step 4: Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square.
Step 5: Top the cream cheese with a spoonful of the strawberry mixture. Fold each square into a triangle and press the edges with a fork to seal.
Step 6: Brush the tops of the turnovers with the beaten egg. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 7: Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
Step 8: Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Storage Information
Store cooled turnovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or 300°F (150°C) oven for 5–7 minutes to restore crispiness. These are best enjoyed fresh, but you can also freeze them (baked or unbaked) for up to 1 month.
