Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, red bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne if using.

Step 3: Remove skillet from heat and allow mixture to cool slightly. Stir in the chopped shrimp, cheese, mayonnaise, beaten eggs, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.

Step 4: Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust. Arrange reserved whole shrimp on top for garnish if desired.

Step 5: Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.

Step 6: Let the pie cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Storage Information

Store leftover shrimp pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm individual slices in the oven at 300°F (150°C) until heated through. Freezing is possible, but texture may vary slightly upon thawing.
