Step 1 Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2 Melt the chocolate chips and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.

Step 3 In a separate bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and glossy.

Step 4 Stir the melted chocolate mixture into the wet ingredients until combined.

Step 5 In another bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Step 6 Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

Step 7 Fold in chocolate chunks.

Step 8 Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing evenly.

Step 9 Bake for 10–12 minutes until the tops are crackly and edges are set.

Step 10 Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. For a gooey texture, warm briefly in the microwave. These cookies can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
