Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
Step 3: Stir in kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Step 4: Spread the chili mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Nestle the hot dogs into the chili.
Step 5: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top.
Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 7: Remove from oven, add your favorite toppings, and serve hot.
Storage Information
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through. This casserole also freezes well for up to 2 months—just thaw and reheat before serving.
