Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet or small baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 3: Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.

Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until a soft cookie dough forms.

Step 6: Fold in the chocolate chips and chocolate chunks, reserving a few for topping.

Step 7: Shape the dough into one large thick cookie on the prepared baking sheet and press the remaining chocolate pieces on top.

Step 8: Bake for 15–18 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is still slightly soft.

Step 9: Allow the cookie to cool for 10 minutes before serving for the perfect chewy texture.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store the Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. Reheat briefly in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to make the chocolate soft and gooey again. The cookie can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
