Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. While it heats, cut potatoes into fries, soak them in cold water for 15 minutes, then pat dry.
Step 2: Toss dried fries with 2 tablespoons olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes until golden and crispy.
Step 3: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, paprika, and black pepper to create the glaze.
Step 4: Brush sausages with 1 tablespoon olive oil and place on the hot grill. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
Step 5: During the last 2 minutes of grilling, brush sausages generously with the honey-mustard glaze, turning to coat all sides.
Step 6: Toast the baguette cut side down on the grill for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly charred.
Step 7: Assemble the burger baguette by spreading mayonnaise on the toasted baguette, then layer with lettuce, a burger patty or cooked ground beef, cheddar cheese, and tomato slices.
Step 8: Plate everything together, sausages alongside the cheeseburger baguette and crispy fries, and serve immediately.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover sausages and fries in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The burger baguette is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated overnight if needed.
Reheat sausages gently in a skillet over medium heat with a splash of water to keep them moist. Crispy fries taste best when reheated in a 375 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 10 minutes to restore their crunch.
For the burger, warm the baguette separately under a broiler and assemble with fresh toppings if possible. This prevents the bread from becoming soggy and keeps flavors bright and vibrant.
