Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
Step 2: In a large bowl, mix cake mix, melted butter, and evaporated milk until a thick batter forms.
Step 3: Press half of the batter into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes until slightly set.
Step 4: While the base bakes, combine caramels and heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until melted and smooth.
Step 5: Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped pecans. Pour the melted caramel evenly over the top.
Step 6: Drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter on top. Gently spread or flatten with a spatula.
Step 7: Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes. Let cool completely before slicing.
Step 8: Drizzle with extra caramel sauce and top with additional chocolate chips if desired.
Storage Information
Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Warm slightly before serving for an extra gooey bite.
