Instructions
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Add the remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
Step 3: Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Step 4: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.
Step 5: Roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness and cut out donut shapes using donut cutters.
Step 6: Place the donuts on a parchment-lined tray, cover lightly, and let rise again for 30 minutes.
Step 7: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and cool slightly.
Step 8: Dip the cooled donuts into different frostings and glazes. Decorate each donut with assorted toppings such as cookies, candy bars, sprinkles, chocolate chips, marshmallows, or chocolate drizzle.
Step 9: Allow the toppings and glaze to set for a few minutes before serving or packaging.
