Instructions
step 1 Butter one side of each slice of bread.
step 2 Place one slice, butter-side down, onto a sandwich press or pan.
step 3 Layer with cheese, ham, and an extra slice of cheese if you want extra meltiness.
step 4 Add the second slice of bread on top, butter-side up.
step 5 Toast in a sandwich press or grill pan over medium heat until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, about 3–5 minutes per side.
step 6 Remove from heat, let sit for 1 minute, then cut in half and serve hot.
Storage and Reheating Tips
This toastie is best enjoyed fresh, but you can wrap leftovers in foil and refrigerate for up to 1 day. Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven until warmed through and crispy again. Avoid microwaving as it will make the bread soggy.
