Instructions
Step 1: Season your sirloin steak cubes with soy sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, and sesame oil. Let sit for 10 minutes while you prep other ingredients.
Step 2: In a large skillet or griddle over high heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter and sear the steak bites until browned on all sides, about 3-4 minutes total. Set aside on a plate.
Step 3: Using the same skillet, melt another tablespoon of butter and add the shrimp with minced garlic, soy sauce, and paprika. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Transfer to the plate with steak.
Step 4: In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter and scramble the beaten eggs until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
Step 5: Add day-old rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, then add diced onion, frozen peas, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Cook until the rice is heated through and lightly golden, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 6: In a separate skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add zucchini, bell pepper, and chopped onion. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender with a slight char.
Step 7: Arrange steak, shrimp, fried rice, and grilled vegetables on a serving plate. Enjoy your homemade hibachi feast.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover hibachi components separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This keeps the textures from getting soggy and makes reheating easier.
Reheat the steak and shrimp together in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. The fried rice can be warmed in the microwave in 1-minute intervals, stirring between each.
For the best results, consume this dish fresh. However, the components keep well separately and can be mixed and matched throughout the week for quick, satisfying meals.
