How to clear your sinuses naturally?

We all know that moment when our head feels constricted, when every breath becomes an effort… What if a simple gesture with your fingers could make all the difference? This amazing, discreet, and completely natural technique could transform your stuffy mornings into light days. Curious? Here’s everything you need to know…

Why do your sinuses get blocked?

A congested nose isn’t just a minor inconvenience. It’s often the result of inflammation of the mucous membranes in the sinuses, the cavities located in our forehead, cheeks, and around our eyes. This inflammation prevents mucus from draining normally, causing a feeling of pressure, facial pain, and even headaches.  This can make your face feel as if it’s under pressure.

The causes? A cold, allergies, sinusitis… in short, everyday occurrences. And while some turn to medication, others prefer gentler, more natural approaches.

The natural method that relieves: facial acupressure

Inspired by reflexology and acupressure, this technique is based on the idea that certain specific points on the face, when stimulated, can help unblock the sinuses.  It’s a bit like flipping switches that restart circulation.

Studies have shown that applying pressure to these areas can improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote mucus clearance. The result? Less pressure, more breathing.

How to do it? The practical guide in 5 steps

  1. Wash your hands  : This is essential, as we are working near the eyes and nose.
  2. Between the eyebrows  : Place your index fingers just above the bridge of your nose. Gently press and massage in small circles for 30 seconds.
  3. On each side of the nose  : Where your nostrils meet your cheeks. Use your thumbs to gently press and massage for 30 seconds.
  4. Under the cheekbones  : Align your fingers with your pupils and massage the points located just under the cheekbones. Apply gentle but firm pressure for another 30 seconds.
  5. At the base of the skull  : Place your thumbs on either side of the neck, where the neck meets the skull. Massage firmly for 30 seconds.

Repeat this sequence two to three times a day as needed. It’s quick, discreet, and provides real relief.
