Instructions
Step 1: Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through. Remove excess grease if needed.
Step 3: Add diced onion, garlic, and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened.
Step 4: Pour in the white wine and cook for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
Step 5: Stir in diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Step 6: Toss in the cooked noodles and chopped parsley or basil, mixing gently to coat everything in the sauce.
Step 7: Serve hot, topped with freshly grated parmesan and extra herbs if desired.
Storage Information
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of water or wine to refresh the sauce.
