Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions

Instructions:

Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 6–8 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Step 2: In the same skillet, add the onions and peppers. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened.

Step 3: Add garlic and red pepper flakes, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4: Return the sausages to the skillet. Add water or broth, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes until sausages are cooked through.

Step 5: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Step 6: Serve on hoagie rolls or sandwich buns for a hearty sausage sandwich, or enjoy over pasta or rice.

Storage Information:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in the microwave until warmed through.
