Instructions
Step 1: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel lined plate.
Step 2: Divide the ground beef into two large portions and gently form thick patties, seasoning both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Step 3: In the same skillet, cook the patties over medium‑high heat for about 3–4 minutes per side for a juicy burger.
Step 4: Place two slices of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover briefly so the cheese melts.
Step 5: Butter the bread slices and toast them in a pan until golden brown.
Step 6: Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard together to create a simple burger sauce.
Step 7: Spread the sauce on the toasted bread slices.
Step 8: Layer the cheesy burger patty on the bread, then add crispy bacon and optional sliced onions.
Step 9: Close the sandwich with the top slice of bread and gently press.
Step 10: Slice in half and serve immediately while hot and juicy.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover burger patties and bacon separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat the patties in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes until warmed through, then assemble fresh sandwiches with toasted bread for the best texture.
