Instructions:
step 1 Marinate the chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for more flavor).
step 2 In a shallow bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
step 3 Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge marinated chicken in the seasoned flour, pressing to coat well.
step 4 Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
step 5 Toast brioche buns in a pan or toaster.
step 6 Assemble the sandwiches: spread mayo on the buns, add lettuce, fried chicken, cheese, onions, pickles or jalapeños, and a drizzle of honey or BBQ sauce if desired.
step 7 Cook crinkle-cut fries according to package instructions. Season with salt and serve on the side.
Storage and Reheating Tips:
Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 375°F (190°C) to maintain crispiness. Toast buns fresh before serving again. Fries are best served fresh but can also be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
