Instructions
Step 1: Line a large baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
Step 2: Melt the red candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
Step 3: If needed, stir in a small amount of coconut oil or shortening for a smoother consistency.
Step 4: Dip each pretzel twist into the melted red candy coating, covering it completely.
Step 5: Place the coated pretzels onto the prepared parchment paper.
Step 6: Before the coating sets, place two candy eyes near the bottom of each pretzel.
Step 7: Melt the black candy melts in a separate bowl until smooth.
Step 8: Transfer the melted black candy into a piping bag or small zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
Step 9: Pipe a curved black section beneath the eyes to create the ladybug face.
Step 10: Add small black dots using black sprinkles or decorating gel to resemble ladybug spots.
Step 11: Allow the pretzels to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for 15 minutes until firm.
Step 12: Serve immediately or store for later.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store the ladybug pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
Keep them in a cool, dry place to prevent the candy coating from melting.
Avoid refrigerating for long periods, as condensation can affect the candy shell.
These treats do not require reheating and are best enjoyed fresh and crunchy.
