Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil. Place bacon slices on the sheet and brush both sides with maple syrup.
Step 2: Bake bacon for 15-20 minutes, turning once, until crispy and caramelized. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 3: Butter one side of each bread slice. Place 4 slices butter-side down on a clean surface.
Step 4: Layer each with 1 slice cheddar, a piece of maple bacon, another slice of cheddar, and top with remaining bread (butter-side up).
Step 5: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing down slightly, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
Step 6: Slice and serve hot.
Storage Information
Best enjoyed fresh off the skillet. If needed, store cooled sandwiches in foil or an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven for best texture.
