Old Time Oven Peach Cobbler

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in a 9×9-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven.

Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk until smooth to create the batter.

Step 3: Remove the baking dish from the oven once the butter is melted. Pour the batter directly into the dish over the butter—do not stir.

Step 4: Spoon the peaches and syrup evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir. Sprinkle cinnamon on top if using.

Step 5: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the cobbler comes out clean.

Step 6: Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Storage Information

Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or warm in the oven at 300°F until heated through. This cobbler can also be frozen—wrap tightly and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
