Step 1 In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then form into 4 thin patties./n
Step 2 Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through./n
Step 3 In the same pan, melt butter and cook the sliced onions until caramelized and soft./n
Step 4 Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to create a simple sauce./n
Step 5 Butter one side of each slice of bread./n
Step 6 Place a slice of bread butter-side down, add cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions, more cheese, and top with another slice of bread./n
Step 7 Grill the sandwich in a skillet until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted./n
Step 8 Stack additional layers if desired and serve hot.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover patties and components separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat patties in a skillet or microwave, and re-toast the bread in a pan for best texture. Avoid assembling until ready to serve to prevent sogginess.
