Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a bowl, mix together the chopped pecans, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, honey, and salt.
Step 3: Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares or rectangles.
Step 4: Spoon a small amount of the pecan filling onto each pastry piece.
Step 5: Roll or fold the pastry around the filling and place the pastries seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 6: Brush the pastries with the beaten egg.
Step 7: Sprinkle coarse sugar over the tops for extra crunch and sweetness.
Step 8: Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the pastries are golden brown and flaky.
Step 9: Allow the pastries to cool slightly before serving.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover Pecan Caramel Pastry Bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Reheat the pastries in the oven at 325°F (165°C) for a few minutes to restore their crisp texture.
These pastries can also be frozen for up to 2 months and reheated directly from frozen.
