Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onion is soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Step 3: Stir in the pizza sauce and cook for another 2–3 minutes until heated through.
Step 4: Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Top with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Step 5: Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the tater tots and top with pepperoni slices.
Step 6: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 7: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Add optional toppings if desired.
Storage Information
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until hot. This casserole can also be made ahead and frozen; thaw in the fridge overnight and bake as directed.
