Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey with chopped onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
Step 3: Stir in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and pizza sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Step 4: Spread the meat sauce mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Step 5: Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and half of the pepperoni.
Step 6: Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top.
Step 7: Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes or until tots are golden and crispy.
Step 8: Top with remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella and extra pepperoni, then return to oven for 5 more minutes until cheese is melted.
Storage Information
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to keep the tater tots crispy. You can also freeze the casserole before baking—assemble, wrap tightly, and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before baking as directed.
