The Hidden Detail at First Glance
In this puzzle, no glass can actually fill up. Why? Because all possible water paths are blocked in some way.
- Glasses 1 and 5 have their exits blocked from the start
- Glass 2 is clogged at the end of its path
- Glasses 3, 4, and 7 have obstructions in the middle of their pipes
- Glass 6 isn’t connected to any other element
Result: The water has no free passage to completely fill any glass.
The Right Answer (and the Most Frustrating One)
No glass will fill up.
This answer often elicits a “Of course!” followed by slight annoyance. Yet, once explained, it seems obvious. It shows how our eyes can be deceived by a well-crafted visual scene.
