Instructions:
step 1 Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
step 2 In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
step 3 Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
step 4 In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
step 5 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
step 6 Fold in chocolate chips or chunks evenly.
step 7 Scoop large portions of dough (about 1/4 cup each) and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
step 8 Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
step 9 Let cookies cool on the pan for 10 minutes to set before serving warm.
Storage and Reheating Tips:
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. To keep them soft, place a slice of bread in the container. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to bring back the fresh-out-of-the-oven gooeyness. Cookies can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
